Genital Herpes is a viral infection that affects many people, although it’s not quite as common as some people believe. The infection can fall into one of two types; herpes simplex virus 1 (oral herpes) or herpes simplex virus 2 (genital herpes). Genital herpes is classed as a sexually transmitted infection (STI) and it affects the skin surrounding the genital region.
